Hello Readers, This month in Csai we finished up a project that is really useful during Covid-19! We made a device on our micro-bits that essentially measured out and told you when you were within 6 feet of one another. See the picture below.

First thing we did to create this was have a partner and choose a radio group. Basically the radio helps connect and send signals from one micro-bit to another. We measured out approximately six feet and then coded it to send a smiley face when we were six feet apart or further, and make a frowny face when we were within range of each other. This was a fun project and some challenges we faced were getting the micro-bit to not send so much feedback until it reached its final message. Sometimes the signal switched back and forth from smiley and frowny until it finalized on its answer. We never figured out how to stop it but I realized that if we went slowly then it would not switch. There are definitely changes I would make like figure out how to not get so much feedback or to have it respond quicker. This was our latest project, look forwards for an update. SEE YOU NEXT TIME!
